Dr. Nathan Nshakira
Chair
A committed Christian and proud Uganda, Nathan has served in community-based and clinical health care management, district health services management, health research and training, and integrated health and development consulting.
Nathan also has in technical leadership, governance and operations in government and private not-for-profit primary health care facilities, community-based, academic and integrated health development programs. He has previously worked as an Associate Lecturer at the Makerere University (School of Public Health), and the Uganda Christian University (Health Sciences and Child Development).
Indeed, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia have benefited from his vast experience as a medical doctor and public health specialist since 1988. Nathan made available his consulting services on a fulltime basis from 2003 and 2017.
For the last 10 years Nathan has worked in government health services and university-based research and training for health professionals. He also spent 7 years in non-government, poverty-focused development, and HIV control programs at national, regional and global level.
Nathan currently Lectures in Community Health at Kabale University and makes time to serve his community. His current community service roles include: Chairman of the Board for Wise Choices for Life Uganda; Rugarama Mission Hospital; the Uganda Bamboo Association (championing the promotion of bamboo growing and sustainable utilization in Uganda); and PROCLAIM Africa (an evangelical Christian organization focused on Bible-based training of Church leaders in wholistic ministry). He is also a member of the Board of Bwindi COU Community Hospital.

Pastor Peter Adapakin
Vice Chair
Peter was Chairman of WCFL Mbale Planning Committee for over 2 years and has been a passionate trainer/facilitator of WCFL for over 7 years. As well, Peter is a Pastor at The Redeemed of the Lord Evangelistic Church, Mbale for over 15 years.
Peter has been a Chaplain at Resilient High School for over 10 years and has been Patron of C.U. of Elgon International Health Institute for over 7 years. At Green Pasture College and Pentecostal Theological College Mbale, Peter has acted as Deputy Principal and is a part time lecturer.
Peter attended Alpha-Omega Seminary in Jinja and holds B.A. in Bible Studies and Theology from Global University.
Emmanuel Nyiringabo
Treasurer
Proudly Ugandan, Emmanuel states: “I am a Ugandan, born in Uganda and raised up in Uganda. Married to one wife and God has blessed us with 5 biological children – one girl and 4 boys.”
Emmanuel has nearly 20 years’ experience in program leadership and implementation. He has facilitated partnerships, networks, and collaborations involving supporting and building capacity of partners in project management, child and youth development, holistic child development, strategic planning, staff capacity building and human resource management.
Formal roles held over his career include: Child Development Officer, Project Director in holistic child development ministry, senior Partnership Facilitator and currently, he works as Manager of Partnerships with Compassion International Uganda. Emmanuel’s impressive career journey has enabled him to support, manage, monitor and participate in implementation projects with significant impact. Of note was the installation of big gravity water schemes, construction of resource centers, hosting of Musketeer Marathon initiatives, approving several heterogenous budgets and building strong partnership relationships for child development.
Emmanuel also serves as leader of St Andrews Cathedral mainstream church fellowship, Chairman of Scripture Union Eastern Region, Chairman of Rays of Worship Ministries, and Patron of Makerere University Kisoro Anglican Youth Missioners.
This vast experience, exposure to, and passion for the vulnerable over the years is what attracted him to serve as one of the pioneer board members with Wise Choices for Life, Uganda since 2018.
A professional Urban Planner, Emmanuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and a post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Uganda Management Institute.
Gimuguni Lillian Nabaasa (Lillian)
Secretary
Lillian works as an Academic Registrar of Busitema University at present and previously as Academic Registrar for Uganda Christian University (until 2018). She has also worked in higher institutions of learning where she held different roles including as lecturer and Head of Education, Economics, School Practice and Research Departments.
A passionate educator, Lillian teaches Economics and Geography and has taught in a number of schools including King’s College Budo, Nabumali High School, Mbale Secondary School and Kabale Secondary. Lillian’s service extends to board governance and management committee roles for a number of schools including: Hornby High School (P), Kabale Preparatory and Secondary Schools and Rugama Hospital.
Lillian is co-founder of ‘A World of Excellence’, a company that focuses on training in a number of skills including financial management, human resource management, nutrition, pedagogy, life skills, family life, etc.
Currently a PhD student in Kisii University in Educational Planning and Economics, Lillian holds a Master’s degree in Education (MED) from Makerere University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree (BAED) from MUK.
Grace Marriam Munyosi
Board Member
Grace’s career and experience are vast and diverse and includes 14 years with JENGA CDO, World Concern International (7 years), The Navigators of Uganda (4 years) and church leadership for over 13 years.
Herself a graduate of our Wise Choices for Life training, Grace also holds Certificates in Christian Discipleship and Community Health as well as informal training in management, leadership, counselling, pastoral care, communication, and community project implementation.
Grace is married to Pastor Vincent Munyosi and they are parents of five beautiful children.
Currently studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Ministry, at Livingstone International University, Grace also holds a Diploma in Counselling and Guidance and a certificate in Catering and Hotel Management.
Francis Osire
Board Member
Currently serving as Deputy Chaplain of St. James Chapel Makerere University Business School, Francis is an Anglican Priest of the Diocese of Kampala Province of Church Uganda.
Francis is committed to serving others and taking care of others. Married to Sarah, they have been blessed with 3 boys and a girl.
Francis has studied Leadership at Haggai Institute of Advanced Leadership in Singapore and is a Community Development Major and Communications Minor at Daystar University Nairobi Kenya.
He also holds formal qualifications in Health Counselling and Social Care through Uganda Institute of Health and Management Sciences, Mulago Kampala Uganda.
Francis holds a Master of Divinity from Uganda Christian University, Mukono Uganda.
Kwikiriza Benson (Benson)
Board Member
Benson is a pioneer Board Member and strong promoter of Wise Choices for Life Uganda. A licensed advocate of the High Court and all Courts of Judicature in Uganda, Benson is a Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public. He is also a member of the East Africa Law Society, the Uganda Law Society and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
An all-round lawyer, having been exposed to aspects of Human Rights and Commercial Law practice, Benson is currently working with the Legal Department of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda.
Prior to that, Benson worked with the Uganda Law Society and its Legal Aid Project in various capacities as a Program Officer, Legal Aid and Pro Bono Assistant and Assistant Legal Officer during implementation of various projects funded by development partners like United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Belgian DGD through Avocats Sans Frontieres (ASF), Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), which focused on access to justice for the poor, vulnerable and marginalized people.
Currently pursuing his status as a Chartered Secretary from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, U.K. (ICSA), Benson has undertaken several short courses. They include drafting, insurance, Alternative Dispute Resolution, etc. with the School of Law –Nairobi, College of Insurance – Nairobi, the Insurance Institute of Uganda, the Mediation Training Institute East Africa, etc.
Benson holds a Master of Laws Degree from Makerere University; a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Uganda Christian University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center.
